E.g. fruits, and dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can you think of an example of a food in the Bible that is described as sweet?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Honey!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Honey was something sweet that was eaten, and readily available. We read about honey being in Israel, Jonathan finding honey, and the promised land is described as a land flowing with milk and honey (showing its abundance and goodness).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David wrote many Psalms, which use poetic language to describe something that is sweeter than honey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wow! Sweeter than honey, that must be so delicious and satisfying! David cannot find the words to describe how good it is to eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It\u2019s God\u2019s word, the Bible.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>David says that God&#8217;s law, or word, is his delight. It is something to be desired and delighted in. It has so many spiritual benefits. Just as food nourishes us, or as it tastes in our mouths, God\u2019s word is full of goodness and tastes so good!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Psalm 119:103-104 says:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>103 How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!<br>104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The word of God is so good \u2013 there are so many benefits and satisfaction in reading it. Why does it taste so good?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wisdom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The word of God is good for the head \u2013 for wisdom \u2013 it gives us understanding to know the difference between truth and sin\/lies\/falsehood, and between good and evil. It shows us what we are, as sinners, as well as about Jesus, the Saviour for sinners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Joy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The word of God gives joy and happiness such that it is the most enjoyable thing we could think of &#8211; honey!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To listen and love and live by God\u2019s Word is ultimately sweet, for those who believe and trust God, have eternal life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can you taste the sweetness of God&#8217;s word?
