Genesis 1 - Resources & Bible Materials

Genesis 1 is the opening chapter of the Bible and tells the story of God’s creation of the world. In this chapter, God creates the world and everything in it, from the heavens and the earth to the plants and animals that inhabit it. On the final day of creation, God creates humans in His own image, male and female, and gives them dominion over the earth.

This chapter teaches us about the majesty and power of God, as well as His creativity and purposeful design. As a Sunday School teacher, you can use this story to teach your students about the importance of stewardship and caring for the earth, as well as the ways in which God created humans with a special purpose and calling to reflect His image in the world. You can also use this story to teach your students about the goodness of creation and the ways in which God values and cares for all living things.
